They followed the Star

Back to List

It was a long journey for those wise men coming from the East to find the Baby Lord Jesus. It may have taken them months, or even years, but they arrived at last and gave their treasures to the new-born King. The star had led them in the right way.

Gold they brought, a fitting gift for a King ; frankincense, because they knew that He was truly the Son of God; and myrrh to anoint His body when it should be laid in the grave. What a strange gift for a baby! But He had come to be a Saviour, said the angel, and only by dying on the cross could He save sinful boys and girls.

Almost at the end of the Bible the Lord Jesus says : "I am the bright and morning star." He is coming soon to take to heaven all that love Him. Are you looking out for Him, as the watchers eagerly look for the morning star ? "Surely I come quickly," He says. Then those that have loved and served Him will shine as the stars for ever. Whoever follows Him, He says, shall not walk in darkness.
