In far off Egypt |
|
WOULD You find it thrilling to ride through the desert on a camel, or to wander through the streets of old Cairo? It would certainly make a change, but the boys and girls of Egypt are not always so happy as you might expect. Many of them as babies lie in the hot sun for hours, covered with dirt and flies. No wonder so many are blind, and many more die young.
Then, too, many of these little children have never even heard of the Lord Jesus, the Saviour of boys and girls. They are taught to follow a false prophet, Mohammed.
Many girls at the age of 12 or 14 are married to men that they have never seen, and are taken away from their homes, shut right away behind a trellis, afraid to come out until it gets dusk, when they may creep into a neighbour's house for a friendly chat.
When they are happy enough to go to a Christian school or Sunday School, what a difference it makes! There they hear how the Lord Jesus, Who was once in their land, died on the cross, so that all that trust Him might have their sins forgiven, and be truly happy. Have you trusted this Saviour ?
