In the Tower of London

Back to List

W hat a tale those walls could tell, if they could but speak ! How many innocent men have languished in these cells, while guilty ones wore their crowns and enjoyed their homes ! On the walls you can see names and patterns carved by those that spent long weary years in the Tower. The two little princes, Sir Walter Raleigh, the Duke of Norfolk, all suffered within these walls. How unfair it all must have seemed.

Men are cruel and unjust to one another, but God is not. By Him actions are weighed. He has said "Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." But every one of us has sinned, and sinned often. Can God pardon that ? Yes, for the Lord Jesus has borne the punishment due to sin. He died on the cross so that all who trust Him might be cleansed and forgiven.

The Tower of London contains not only the execution block, but also the royal crown. Those that love the Lord Jesus will escape the judgment of God, and wear a crown of glory with Him for ever.
