Fancy being wakened in the middle of the night, to be told that you are a Queen! That does not happen to many girls. "Not likely to happen to me," you say. No, but stranger things do happen at times.

It was Queen Victoria who awoke that night, over a century ago, to be told that she was sovereign of England. She was only seventeen, and it seemed a heavy burden for such young shoulders. Yet somehow the young Queen learned to trust One greater than herself, Who was with her all the way, and brought her to a place of respect and honour enjoyed by few sovereigns.

"I hope the Lord Jesus will come during my reign," she said one day. When asked why, she replied: "So that I can cast my crown at His feet."

You may never be a king or queen, but you may know and love Queen Victoria's Saviour, Who gave His life for her and for You, if you will trust Him. Is He your Saviour?
